Reiki is a form of energy healing. We know from the ancient yogis as well as from modern science that everything is energy; our body, thoughts and emotions included. Reiki is the practice of channeling strong, intentional healing energy to assist in the restoration and integration of your body, mind and heart; aligning them with each other and the Universe. When we instinctively place our hands on a wound we are directing focused energy to that place for ease and healing. So we have an instinctive understanding of this potential whether we are aware of it or not.
Reiki is another word for Prana/Manas/Qi; that all pervading, intelligent force that holds the Universe together and keeps it unfolding and growing. Some of the benefits of Reiki are:
- Offers deep relaxation and release of stress and tension
- Creates an environment for nurturance and restoration
- Dissolves energetic blocks and invites more integration between body, mind and soul
- Supports the natural balance of prana in your body, mind, heart
During a session I serve as a channel for Reiki energy; inviting it to help and heal where it needs to. I offer a space of deep listening and presence to whatever may present itself. You may experience inner visions and images, sensory enlivening, and memories as well as deep relaxation and profound rest. Together we can explore some of the experiences and see what insights they lead to and what practices might you employ to integrate them into your everyday life.
I first trained in Reiki healing over ten years ago and have used it for my own healing and growth ever since. I refreshed my training in 2016 with Daisy Thompson at Northwest Healing Arts with the express intention of sharing my gifts of deep listening, insight and presence to support other people’s journeys and healing. Reiki healing can be received on its own or in combination with yoga practices during a session.
